From the new Mistra we can walk along the well-preserved cobbled road that was the main road connecting the pastoral Taygetis with the plain. Later, its layout facilitated the passage of the water pipeline of the new Mistra. The climb, which takes an hour, starts from the bridge that connects the new Mistra with the Byzantine city and moves along the left (southern) slope of the gorge, facing the rock of Mistra. After the desert chapel of Agios Ioannos Prodromos we continue on a cobblestone road and after meeting the old spring of Kontogiorgis, we pass the churches of Agia Sotiras and Agios Nikolaos and exit to Taygetis, right in front of the big spring of the village.
