Starting from the village square, we go uphill to the main road (about 500 meters) and leave it to follow a path that descends into the village and then a paved path. We cross gardens and estates with walnut and quince trees and, passing close to the ruins of watermills, we reach the chapel of Agios Georgios. We descend to Agia Paraskevi and after crossing an open basin with dry fields and two threshing floors, we come out on the road which we follow to the monastery.
The Monastery of Faneromeni is a newer monastery. The fragments of architectural members and the inscribed column in the courtyard come from the site of ancient Sparta.
