Excursion to Elona on August 10, 11, 2024
The Hellenic Mountaineering Club of Sparta will hold and this year for its members and according to the program of ascents, the established overnight pilgrimage to the Holy Virgin Mary Elona on Saturday to Sunday, 10 to 11 August 2024.
The start of the march will be at 7.45 on Saturday evening from the Kallithea (Zarafona) and not from Kalloni (Berbeni) due to the and, with an intermediate stop in Kosmas, will end in Elona early Sunday morning.
The route is characterized as very difficult and its duration is approximately 10 hours. The total distance is about 25 km. Total altitude difference 2.272m (ascent 1.030m descent 1.242m)
The movement to Kallithea and the return from Elona will be by car or or hired vehicles, depending on the number of people involved and the costs will be shared.
